Our take

Calle de Fuencarral is the street that separates Chueca from Malasaña, and number 6 sits at its southern tip, right where it meets Gran Vía. That makes this the most transport-connected address in our Chueca set: two minutes to Gran Vía, five to Puerta del Sol on foot. If your trip is built around getting out of the barrio quickly, this is the one.

It is a compact product. The units we saw sleep two in one bedroom with a kitchenette rather than a full kitchen, and the September sample stay priced from $308 a night, which is toward the top of our Chueca range for the space you get. You are paying for the corner, not the square metres.

Book it if
  • You want Gran Vía and Sol both inside a five minute walk
  • A kitchenette is enough and you plan to eat out
  • You are travelling as a pair and do not need extra rooms
Skip it if
  • You need a full kitchen (POSTCODE Chueca has one)
  • You want quiet: this is the busiest corner in the barrio
  • You are a group of four or more
